What Brett likes most about public accounting is that no two days are the same. Brett’s clients are primarily small businesses and multi-state companies across a range of industries. He brings enthusiasm, hard work, and a kind heart to helping clients navigate complicated tax rules and regulations so together they can develop strategies to minimize the businesses’ tax liability.
If you want to spend time with Brett, pack your sunscreen because you’ll be heading out on a hiking trail with his golden retriever, to a Clemson football game, or to the beach.
Brett's Story:
Though he wasn’t born in the area, Brett has lived in the Upstate for most of his life. High school was his first exposure to accounting. He enjoyed it so much, he chose it as his major in college where he attended College of Charleston, graduating in 2009. From there, he returned to the Upstate to attend Clemson University’s Master’s of Accountancy Program. After graduation, Brett started his career in public accounting at a small firm in Anderson for five years before joining BGC in 2016 as a Tax Manager. Since then, Brett has found enjoyment in discussing benefits of cost segregation studies with his Real Estate Tax clients as well as other complex tax topics. Brett says his favorite part about working for BGC is the wonderful staff here in the office.
