“Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor.”
-Stephen Sondheim
Sandra’s roots run deep into financial reporting environments. As soon as being a high school student, she absorbed valuable experience and interest in bookkeeping. By working the closing shift at the local grocery store, her professional career as a business woman was only in the making. In 1990, Sandra graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Presbyterian College. Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, she worked as an internal audit trainee for Winn-Dixie. Moving on up, she worked as a tax manager with one of the largest regional accounting firms in South Carolina for nearly fifteen years.
Given her outstanding accomplishments and work ethic, she was hired in August 2007 and became a partner at BGC in January 2011. Sandra has contributed continuously to the development and progress of the firm.
As one of the partners of the firm, her primary focus aims managing the high net worth individual clients and small business clients for both financial and/or retirement planning. Fun fact, her favorite task is still preparing 1040’s.
Sandra is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. Her superior quality of work is portrayed by her double accreditation.
Sandra has two wonderful children adopted from Guatemala. One day, she hopes to take the kids on a mission trip to their place of birth. Her daughter enjoys gymnastics which reminds Sandra about teaching dance. The rich culture of arts and humanities are one of many reasons why Sandra feels at home in the upstate of South Carolina. Sandra currently holds the treasurer position representing the Metropolitan Arts Council.
