Spotlight on Our Newest Partners

With Bradshaw, Gordon & Clinkscales, LLC, there’s a reason why we have a solid reputation for being a great partner to successful companies throughout our market area. It’s the quality of the people who comprise our staff, their accounting proficiency and their dedication to your success. For this month’s blog, we want to highlight two new partners in the firm: James B. Starks IV and Brian Graham. Both of them were made partner effective January 2017.

James B. Starks IVJames

James joined BGC in 2014 as an Audit Director and quickly integrated himself as a leader in the firm. James received his education at Georgia State University where he graduated magna cu laude with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree, with a double major in Accounting and Finance. After graduation, he earned the professional accreditation of Certified Public Accountant.

While James grew up in the Aiken/Augusta area, he spent most of his teen and adult years in the Greater Atlanta area before gratefully leaving behind the traffic congestion of Atlanta to join our firm. A devoted family man with a wife and four sons, James enjoys playing pick-up basketball, watching UGA football, and lifting weights. His life goals for exercise include skydiving and completing an Ironman.

Brian Graham Brian

Brian may be a new partner, but he’s a long-time member of the team at BGC. He joined our firm in 1999 and has worked in all areas of taxation, but specializes in Estates, Trusts, Gifts and High Net Worth individuals. He brings more than 20 years of accounting experience to the table.

Brian grew up in Mechanicsville, Virginia and developed a love for Upstate South Carolina while he was attending Clemson University, working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He then continued his education at the University of Mississippi School of Law, earning a Juris Doctorate degree. With his small town background, Brian appreciates the small town atmosphere and feel of Greenville despite its recent growth boom and vitality.

Brian is also a family man whose free time is largely filled by supporting his daughter’s interests and hobbies. He enjoys all kinds of sports and is an exercise enthusiast and a student of several martial art styles..

Two new partners—each bringing enthusiasm, a depth of knowledge and experience as well as commitment to your success.

Mary Davis WilliamsSpotlight on Our Newest Partners

When small businesses need help with their taxes, there are many options from which to choose. Some are clearly better than others and Mary Davis Williams ranks among the best of them.  She has spent over twenty years as a tax professional and nine years in healthcare accounting. Though she was not born in Greenville, Mary now calls it home, and enjoys working closely with the small businesses and their owners that make up the wonderful Upstate.

Graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Professional Accountancy has helped Mary throughout her career. She even took a few graduate tax courses at Clemson University once she relocated to the area. Mary’s intelligence, competence, care, wit, and helpfulness come together to create one of BGC’s most valuable assets.

Mary enjoys doing many things in her spare time. You may see her running on a local trail, at a home improvement store collecting supplies for her next project, or attending service at Advent United Methodist Church. She also has two wonderful sons that share her humility and philanthropic tendencies. Mary plans on taking a trip to visit Israel and would also like to canoe the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and Canada. Though she may be the adventurous type, Mary’s tenacity keeps her clients coming
