Sandy's Story:
Sandy was born in Tampa, Florida. Her family moved back to South Carolina when she was a child so she could grow up closer to extended family. She grew up on the Eastside of Greenville, where she was a dancer and dance instructor. Her first exposure to bookkeeping was in high school. She chose to study accounting at Presbyterian College then worked as an internal audit trainee for Winn-Dixie. Transitioning to public accounting, she joined the tax department at one of the largest regional accounting firms in South Carolina, where she stayed for nearly fifteen years. Her youthful interest in dance and theater led her to work in the arts community in Greenville and to serve on the board of the Metropolitan Arts Council for many years. She joined BGC in 2007 and became a partner at BGC 2011.
