Katie enjoys working with companies that have an accounting department or controller. She has a concentration of clients in manufacturing and distribution who value her work because it enables them to meet loan covenants and the requirements for various licenses. She also supports not-for-profit organizations in being grant-ready and 401(k) plans in meeting the DOL’s requirements.
It’s one thing to say you like to travel, as Katie does, it’s another thing entirely to move to Germany for three years, which Katie did with her husband for his job. Living abroad was a fantastic experience, as is being home in South Carolina near family as they raise their young son. Soaking up all that the Upstate has to offer, you may find the family at a local park or out for breakfast on a weekend morning. Family time is her favorite, but when she can find a quiet moment, Katie enjoys cooking, reading, and shopping.
Katie's Story:
Katie grew up in Easley, attended Clemson University, and began her career in public accounting after graduating. She enjoys auditing, but the travel required for a large firm was tiring. She left her previous firm when she and her husband moved to Germany for his work. When they returned to the Upstate, Katie didn’t think she’d return to public accounting. When she interviewed at BGC, she realized it was the best of both worlds, rewarding work and a schedule that gets her home to be with family.
