Shelby enjoys working with small start ups to established companies. Her areas of focus range from real estate to high-net worth individuals, but the common thread is helping clients navigate complex situations. This is made easier and more enjoyable when clients are actively engaged in the process. That’s why Shelby’s takes extra measures to educate people about their tax situation.
Shelby and her husband love to travel. Their wish list of global destinations in the next 10 years includes Mongolia, Cambodia, Peru, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. When at home you may find Shelby engaged in fiber arts from cross stitch to crochet to quilting; hopefully without the “help” of their two cats, Livvy and Vivy.
Shelby's Story:
Born and raised in the Upstate, Shelby is one of BGC's passionate and diligent tax managers. Although she did not initially envision herself settling in the upstate, she discovered an unexpected love for the pace of life here as well as the ability to live within walking distance of so many great attractions. Shelby pursued her academic journey at University of South Carolina, completing both her undergraduate and graduate studies there. Embarking on her professional career, Shelby landed several internships and eventually chose a position at a large regional accounting firm where she began her career in accounting. After a few years, Shelby decided to make the transition to a position at BGC in 2021. Shelby cites the work-life balance that BGC offers as her motivation, allowing her to find great professional success while also having time to explore her creative side.
